Keypoints
Tingling in the hands and feet Tingling in the hands and feet, or neuropathy, can be experienced by patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma who are given the chemotherapy drug vincristine as part of their treatment. This drug is commonly used in combination chemotherapy treatments. An example is CHOP, which includes cyclophosphamide, hydroxydaunorubicin (also sometimes known as adriamycin or doxorubicin), Oncovin (a brand name for vincristine) and the steroid prednisolone. Another is CVP, involving just cyclophosphamide, vincristine (Oncovin) and prednisolone. Although there is no proven treatment for neuropathy, simple remedies such as massage and comfortable footwear can help. Patients can also benefit from gentle bending and stretching of the fingers and toes every day. Other drugs that may cause these symptoms and are sometimes used in the treatment of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma include vinorelbine, vinblastine, cisplatin and carboplatin. |
